EMILY NYBURG

AN IMMERSIVE GETAWAY INTO THE JUNGLE THAT EVOKES THE ECO-TOURIST WITHIN.

Presenting an opportunity to promote Costa Rica’s biodiversity through educational awareness and involved practices of reforestation. Located on the southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, the village of Uvita will house the initial footprint of the Los Arboles research center.

As the region has suffered extreme deforestation since 1940 due to the agriculture of coffee beans, palm oil, bananas and cane sugar, Los Arboles wishes to help sustain Costa Rica's precious biodiversity and promote the local economy and culture.

Inspired by the symbiotic process within the rainforests of Costa Rica, Los Arboloes's purpose and efforts will work as a bio-indicator by communicating health and stability of specific ecosystems to other local reforestation programs.
