Recharge is a boutique hotel that is inspired from the backbone principles of Tesla Motors. As Tesla is unique to empower a combination of luxury, sport, sustainability and new technology the hotel's design is based off of the same key elements.

Located in Palm Springs, the hotel uses passive design to sustain in such an extreme desert environment. The underground pool is placed at the edge of the south facing side of the building to create a natural cool airflow that enters and circulates throughout the remainder of the building. The facade acts as a shade structure, reflecting the sun that hits the south facing portion of the building, as well as ventilation to allow the hot air to leave through the exterior walls on the building.
